Sharon Osbourne said her husband, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, was
high on drugs for the entirety of their popular reality show, The
Osbournes.
He was stoned on every episode, Sharon told a Celebrity Big Brother
contestant who mentioned watching the series, per Entertainment Weekly. He
was never sober, the 71-year-old celebrity continued. Hes never seen [the
show], doesnt want to see it, and he never watched one episode.
The Osbournes aired on MTV between 2002 and 2005. It followed Ozzy and the
rest of his family members, including Sharon and his children Jack and Kelly,
as they went about their lives. A third Osbourne offspring, Aimee, refused to
participate in the reality show and was openly critical of the whole idea.
Ozzy and Sharon now host a podcast called The Osbournes Podcast where
theyve discussed the reality show and how it impacted them.
During a conversation on the podcast in November, Kelly said being on the
show had a massive negative effect on her.
Imagine having to relive every conversation youve ever had throughout a 24
-hour period or six month period, and then all of a sudden people are judging
everything youve said, Kelly said. Youre just like, Wait I just thought
I was having a normal conversation, now this person hates me. Its crazy. It
just made me so insecure.
Ozzy agreed, saying, Its so intrusive in your house. At the time, I said I
wanted a safe room where I could go and pick my nose and squeeze a zit if I
want to without being on camera, and they had a f***ing camera in there. When
youve got hidden cameras, you start to freak out.
He added that never in a million years would he do a reality show like that
again.
Ozzy has been struggling with his health after being diagnosed with
Parkinsons disease in 2003. Hes also expressed his intention to go back on
tour.
Im getting pissed off reading the papers, and theyre saying things like
Ozzy is fighting his last battle. Hes sung his last Paranoid. You know,
I dont even think about Parkinsons that much, Osbourne said in November,
as The Daily Wire previously reported.
I said to [my wife] Sharon that Id smoked a joint recently and she said,
What are you doing that for! Itll f***-ing kill you! he continued. I
said, How long do you want me to f***ing live for?! At best, Ive got 10
years left and when youre older, time picks up speed.
